How many times a day do we watch, hear or see a misleading advertisement that doesn't break the law, yet is false in a way? A food label may suggest that the product is low calorie with 70 calories only. However, 70 calories is in one serving. So, 20 servings of this packet is actually 1400 calories. So, all the information is labeled and packaged in such a way, that it is there. However, it is misleading. According to BUSINESS AND PROFESSIONS CODE SECTION 17530-17539.6 It is unlawful for any person, firm, corporation, or association, or any employee or agent therefor, to make or disseminate any statement or assertion of fact in a newspaper, circular, circular or form letter, or other publication published or circulated, including over the Internet. Have you ever have been mislead like that? Do share your stories.
